The main programme in Wolverhampton is organised by the Wolverhampton Branch and the branch secretary. Branch programmes are supported by Jeff Fowler regionally. The overall Programme Area Manager for Wolverhampton is Balvinder Bassra.
WEA courses do not only provide ways of accessing new knowledge and understanding. They also provide a social context where like-minded people can meet new people and form friendships, whilst at the same time having an opportunity to put forward their views on a multitude of subjects. Courses offered are numerous and varied:
Art, literature history, local history, politics, bird study, botany, writing, and poetry, land of the Pharaohs, Archaeology, Philosophy and Science are just some of the courses that are currently on offer.
The branch offers individuals the opportunity to join in with them to help develop educational opportunities including new courses, day trips and theatre visits. They normally meet once or twice a term and are always looking to welcome new members.
