VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS AND MEDIA
General programme
The arts and media curriculum area is enormously varied and covers a range of topics. Currently we run classes in practical art, art history and appreciation, crafts, music appreciation, film studies and media studies across the region. But there are plans to expand the programme to include drama, dance, music and storytelling.
Our general programme is open to all learners, although some of the courses may work at a specific level, i.e. beginners or intermediate. There is a fee, but we try to keep course prices low to enable as many learners as possible to join.
Here are some examples of our courses:

If you want to know more about art and media programmes near you, contact the team in your area. Alternatively, send us an email using the contact form and selecting the appropriate category (either your region or the 'Arts' category).
Partnership programmes
Some of our programmes are run in partnership with other organisations. The learners on these courses are drawn from the group of people that organisation works with. Because of the partnership arrangements, these courses are generally offered at low cost or free. Partnership programmes include courses for people with mental health issues or living in areas of social, educational or economic deprivation. We are always interested in working with new partners and welcome new ideas.
Contact the Programme Area Manager in your area or Meg Hughes, the Visual and Performing Arts and Media Curriculum Area Leader by selecting the 'Arts' category on our email contact form.
Tutors
We have an enthusiastic team of specialist tutors. But we are always looking for new tutors to add new strengths to our programme. If you have expertise in this area and are qualified to teach adults (or working towards a qualification), then we would love to hear from you. Please download a sessional tutor application form from the Tutor page or email Meg Hughes as above (select the 'Arts' category on our email contact form).
