The area

The Birmingham Programme Area covers the Birmingham conurbation. This urban area has a great diversity in its population and the distribution of wealth.

Our team

The Programme Area Manager is Maureen Russell. She and her team of organisers and tutors provide the community programme in the Birmingham area. You can contact her via the Regional Office. Alternatively, you can send an email by selecting the category 'Birmingham' on our contact form .

The programme

Our programme in the Birmingham area is mainly centred around one of our priority subject areas, Skills for Life. We attract learners from a variety of backgrounds, with either no qualifications or qualifications below level 2. The programme includes literacy, numeracy and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

For more information about these programmes, please access the Skills for Life page and have a look at the sample course downloads. To find out about the programme for 2007/2008, please select 'Birmingham' on our contact form .

Our partners

We work with many partners in the Birmingham area, including many schools. This schools programme, which helps schools with their parent partnership working, is centred around Skills for Life. However, there are other programmes we can offer, such as Helping in Schools or other Parents & Schools programmes. Click here for some examples. For further information on the our programme offer, please check out our subject pages or contact Maureen Russell.
