Wendy Fenn Award

Every year the West Midlands WEA awards the Wendy Fenn Award to one of its volunteers for an outstanding contribution to developing our work. The award is presented during the Summer Festival, which this year takes place on 28th June at BVSC in Birmingham.

If you know a volunteer who deserves to be recognised, either because you experienced their impact on your learning first hand, or have worked alongside them and seen the value of their contribution, please put them forward.

Nominations have to be in by 24th June. Contact regional office or click here to send an email. Make sure you leave your name and contact details, so we can get in touch if we need more information.

WEA Subject Areas

The subjects we teach cover a range of curriculum areas.

Each curriculum area is managed by a Curriculum Area Leader, who makes sure that teaching methods and materials are up-to-date, that the quality of teaching is good across the region and that tutors have regular opportunities to meet and share good practice. He or she will also make sure that the programme keeps on developing new courses to add to the selection.

To make it easier for learners to choose their subject and for us to manage the programme, we have grouped it into broad curriculum areas. They are:
